LIfe in Singapore might not be perfect and though national day is over but honestly is it ever too late to show your love to your nation? Sure there are many things that we can complain about...the weather, the non exsistent political climate, having to serve national service and what not...However instead on focusing on what we lack and the negative perspective on things why do we not look at what we have and what we can be proud of?
Yes though you might say singapore is a sweaty hell hole where it is so damn hot you will melt while walking down the street and if you were made of ice you will sublime immediately how many countries can boast to say that the greatest natural disaster they will ever face is Body Odour and sweat? Maybe we live a rat race sort of life running around like ants on heated pan with no idea where we are heading and the only we get off is by dying however how many of us can say without hesitation that we wish to be like the citizens of an improvished nation where they have no worries on running the rat race and living in a squatter is good enough and so long they have 3 meals a day it is sufficient.We do not run this race because we have to but rather because we want to, for our pride for our ego for our need to boast we are doing all this for a better life, a higher standard of living so why do we blame others for the path we have chosen why is it that we have to complain??Why do we have to whine when the world is not going against us we all have to do is just work for what we want..what is so screwed up with the government that we have to lash out at them at every chance and slap them with comments that really make no sense??we definitely do not have the ideal democratic political system but we damn well have the best in the region and maybe even globally considering that this system helped transformed us from a third world nation to first in which people keep forgetting maybe it is time we learn to just shut our mouths and actually see as well as know that what we have is actually little more that we can ever ask for
