Was at the bus stop at Tiong just the other day on the way home when i was almost pavement killed by two primary sch students from Radin Mas Primary which is coincidentally my
alma mater. What Got to me was not how my whole life did not pass me by. RATHER it was their conversation.

STUDENT 1: You want to go my house play?
STUDENT 2:DUN WANT! YOUR HOUSE SO SMALL!

A bullet of irony struck thru my head and like a sledgehammer i stopped and i thought. What is this world i am living in heading for? What are the values we teach our children?WHAT IS SO DAMN WRONG WITH US! Why are our children at an age where they shld be innocent so DAMNED concern about the size of their house the size of the TV screen? I apologise to the readers who have just been thru a tirade of profanities but i feel really strongly about the innocence of Children and innocence on the whole. Why are we breeding spawns who worship dollar signs? Worshiping the tangible material and sensual? Are we bound to hang ourselves by cheques and bills and bury ourselves amongst the latest technology gone passe? However what is truly vile and grotesque of it all is the AGE. The Human condition has degenerated till what is held as the epitome of human pureness, children is now no longer held true. The SPAWN at age 11 still minors and deemed as children are now corrupted by material values. Where is the age of innocence when all that matters is that you had ur best friend beside you as you imagined being space pirates or the ghost stories u had to share? Maybe this is the next step of DE-EVOLUTION of the Singaporean system. MAYBE this will help us grow in economic value. HELP us increase productivity as we strive to BUY that new Ferrari or Million dollar home.
Will our future Generations grow up learning their ABCs with terms such as American express, Bungalow and cadillac?
